Photography – Digital Collages

These 24 digital collages with title “Were I come from” is a project I made in July, August and September 2012.

Untitled‘ is the first self-portrait and digital collage from my photography series called “Where I come from”. I use my own personal archive of images from my travels. My family albums, these are very personal, are my biggest source of inspiration. I decided to re-organize the images. Images from travels with family and friends. Images of my youth. I realized that looking at them today, the meaning of each image had changed. Because I changed. Because… That is what time does. By using the old ones and placing them in a completely new ‘setting’, filed under the category Digital Collage, something happened. The old images were pulled out of their original existence and were given a new meaning. In this way I was able to tell a personal story by using images from the past, with my thoughts in the now. And, by using circles, representing a world on it’s own, and showing a specific way of playing with color, a new road of image painting was created. This personal exploration shows that there is still so much more to explore in the world of Photography these days.

  7. Great stuff. These are a breath of fresh air. So much photography on wordpress lacks any edge or originality. I stumbled into your blog after you visited one of my photoblogs. I’m so pleased that you stopped off at Little Bits Of Sheffield or I may never have seen your work. I will be following your blog with interest. Keep up the great work. Best wishes, 🙂

Did you know that in IKSAMEN(ajang) are the exact words for ‘together-with-me’ in the Dutch language?
Thank you for your kind words
